Men; If You Don’t Want Your Wife to Idolize Your Boss or Her Male Friends, Just Do This

My wife had a habit of always comparing me and her male boss. My name is Wilson Mukanjau, and I found her behavior both provocative and suffocating. We would occasionally argue, whenever she would quote Victor her boss at the Bank she works as an Accountant.

“Victor says” was her favorite opening statement, one that had the same effect, of me wanting to gauge Victor’s eyes and boil his chubby cheeks for dinner. Rebecca knew how much I hated how she idolized him and mistook his leadership qualities to mean perfection and favored him as her role model. She was always praising something about him, from his deep commanding voice, his driving skills, the fact that he could speak French fluently or how good a swimmer he was, qualities I may or may not have.

Worse, it wasn’t just Victor, I was facing unwanted competition from her male co-workers too. Their consistent compliments have had the effect of making Rebecca change her dress code, favoring shorter skirts, bright colors and red lipstick, which she knows I hate. Once, I suggested that we give it a second try and have another kid, but no, she came home and announced that Victor thinks it’s a bad idea, and somehow, she picked his side. His opinion is always golden, Victor never seems to put a foot wrong, he is Mr. Perfect. Recently, she has been going for evening classes to accrue extra academic qualifications because Victor says it will come in handy for a Promotion. Now, I have to come home early to pick Ryan from school.

I suspect if I run for election against Victor, Rebecca will vote for him and openly criticize my portfolio and policies in favor of his. She rarely picks me for anything, when it comes to her male co-workers or her boss. She has saved him as “The Boss” on her phone, and I’m “Baba Ryan”, that’s it. I got so infuriated last week when she hanged up on my call to pick his that I decided to do something drastic to elevate my status on her priority list. I called Dr. Mugwenu, a traditional herbalist, who came highly recommended by my driver friend from Kisumu, whom he helped recover his matatu within an hour when thugs stole it.

Dr. Mugwenu was very clear, that marriage is about putting each other first and understanding each other’s intrinsic needs. He is known to use very powerful Healing and love spells that work within the same day they are released. I was indeed in luck, as Rebecca has changed since then. Nowadays, my opinion counts more than anybody else’s. As the husband, she lends a listening ear always. No more idolizing Victor or Loser. Thanks to Dr. Mugwenu, my role and place in her life has been restored.
